Anthony Bourdain eventually became one of the culinary world's most recognisable personalities, celebrated as much for his storytelling, curiosity and cultural observations as for the food on his plate. Yet Tony isn't particularly interested in celebrating the legend. Instead, director Matt Johnson takes audiences back to the messy beginnings of a 19-year-old Bourdain (Dominic Sessa), when ambition was still undefined, honesty seemed optional and the chaotic world of the restaurant kitchen was about to change the direction of his life.
