Unbroken gets a sequel from Pure Flix and Universal

Unbroken: Path to Redemption will tell the post-World War II story of Louie Zamperini, produced by Universal 1440 Entertainment, The WTA Group, and Pure Flix and will be released in the US on 5 October.

While Angelina Jolie’s film shared the first half of Laura Hillenbrand’s memoir about the Olympian, shipwreck survivor, and prisoner of war, the upcoming film will share how Zamperini was haunted by his nightmares and descends into despair, alcoholism, and loneliness… before his wife’s faith leads to an unexpected turnaround.

While fans of the non-fiction bestseller know that Zamperini’s quest for revenge against his Japanese captors led him to some dark mental spaces, fans who have only seen the first half of his life unfold on screen will finally see how the love of his life-turned-wife, Cynthia, became the rock that prayed him back from the edge.
