Rise of the Warrior trailer debuts

Gal Gadot unveiled the final trailer for Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman movie at the MTV Movie and TV Awards this week. Gadot and her costar, Chris Pine, presented at the event. But Gadot took to her Twitter account on the 8 May to announce that in addition to presenting that she also a “wonder-ful” surprise in store for everybody.

Warner Bros have been criticised in recent months for their lack of marketing of the Wonder Woman film, with industry insiders saying that a fraction of the money spent on previous DCEU films like Suicide Squad and Batman vs. Superman has been spent on the Patty Jenkins directed film. This latest trailer seems to be trying to attempt to address this as this final epic trailer lands. The trailer details Diana’s rise to become a warrior and also reveals a female villian who hasn’t been seen (or named) in previous trailers.

While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was a hard sell for Warner Bros., doing well at the box office ($873.2 million worldwide) but not enjoyed by critics and a mixed reaction from fans, many praised Gal Gadot’s performance as Wonder Woman as one of the things the burgeoning universe has done right. That praise could ultimately bodes well for Wonder Woman, with Warner Bros.’ president Kevin Tsujihara revealing last year that he’s more confident in the DCEU after having seen Wonder Woman.

That said there is a lot riding on the success of Wonder Woman as it could set the studio up for a big year, with the highly-anticipated Justice League following on November 17.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment comes the epic action adventure starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright, directed by Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
