Reel Dialogue’s top films of 2018

The big question at the end of the year:

What were the best and worst films of 2018?

This has been a year of record-breaking box-office results and mixed responses from our team on the final rankings. We have mixed up the lists a bit this year. Some of the best films were family films, which means some movies made multiple lists.

Despite being a challenging year to pick the best, the teams at Reel Dialogue have looked back over the year and compiled the best and worst films to date in 2018.

Some interesting things to observe: Many of the best and worst films had women in the leading roles, only four sequels made the overall list, Disney dominated the family films list, musicals danced their way to the top and Emily Blunt was the stand-out star of the year.

The question many ask each year is how we rank the films? The process is simply looking at the star ratings of the movies and asking the favourites of the team. There are some exceptions that have moved up or down the list as we have had a second look at the film throughout the year.

Be sure to check the ratings for each film prior to attendance.
