Patty Jenkins will direct Wonder Woman sequel

According to Variety, it is done:

“Patty Jenkins has closed a deal to direct the sequel to the summer hit Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot has already signed on to return in the title role. The film is slated for release on Dec. 13, 2019.”

Yes, the inevitable has occurred: Patty Jenkins will be back for Wonder Woman 2. to be based on the script she’s co-authored with DC’s Geoff Johns. As of now, there’s no real indication what kind of story Wonder Woman 2 might end up telling, but we’re guessing that – much like the first film – it’ll have tangential ties to the other goings-on in the DCEU. Or, hey, maybe it’ll be a standalone thing.

We’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, Wonder Woman (which, it’s worth noting, racked up a global box office of over $800 million worldwide) has already hit digital and hits Blu-ray and DVD on 19 September. We’ll be watching it on report while we wait for further Wonder Woman 2 updates.

Let us know what you thought of Wonder Woman in the comments and look forward to the sequel.
