Every year Christianity Today deliberates over the films that offer a snapshot of the divine. This year, the list is as diverse as it has been in previous years and proves that even if mainstream critics don’t agree CT’s reviewers do.
Les Miserables tops the list at number one and there is good reason.
This new adaptation seems to put the Christianity back into Victor Hugo’s novel where the stage play seemed to try and take it out.
From Christ references to its universal themes of self sacrifice, redemption and grace, there is no doubt that Les Miserables is the film of the year.
